IPL Pigmentation Therapy

Skin pigmentation can occur due to a number of factors, including sun exposure, hormones and skin trauma.

Pigmented lesions, such as age spots and freckles, can be successfully lightened or removed through IPL Pigmentation Therapy. However, with melasma (which are brown to grey-brown patches that appear on the skin, usually on the face), even in those that respond well to treatment, pigmentation may reappear with repeated exposure to the sun and/or because of hormonal factors. Whilst it can be effectively cleared, unfortunately, it cannot be cured. These treatments are non-invasive and suitable for both the face and body and will result in a clearer and more even skin tone.

The treatment method used will be dependent on the type of pigmentation, which can be classified into epidermal (superficial), dermal (deep), and mixed categories, as well as your personal preference. Pulses transmit heat into the skin, targeting dark colourings. The beams shatter the pigment, drawing the pigment to the surface, and allowing the dermis to start its natural healing process.
